I’m excited to announce that Amazon is now allowing me (and other indie authors) to accept pre-orders on their site! No more sitting in front of your computer, frantically hitting the refresh button on release day. Just pre-order, and Amazon will send it right to your device on October 13th.
I’ll post the link to the Apple pre-order button for my iBook readers as soon as they have it live.

It makes perfect sense to me. I’ll be using it. The problem with the old way is that you can’t just keep checking the current day – sometimes Amazon puts a book in with a prior date. So I usually have to look at the past two or three days just to see if a favourite author has published something. Painful. This is much better.

That’s one of the downsides of pre-orders – no more early releases 🙁 It’s a bit of a trade off, but so many readers wanted the pre-order feature that I jumped on it as soon as Amazon said it was available to us indies.

Just out of curiousity, what happens if you finish early? Right now, as soon as the book is available, we can get it. With the pre-orders, can it be delivered early if you finish early? Not that it makes much difference – I’ll be pre-ordering later today anyway.

Thanks! I’m so psyched to finally be able to offer pre-order on Amazon!

You need to load the completed novel 10 days before the release date, too – so there’s not a lot of wiggle room. Makes for some late night, coffee-fueled writing.

OMG, this means we have to publish when we said we would. 🙂

Feels great to be able to pre-order directly from a link on your website. Now to anxiously await…
By the way, WONDERFUL cover.

Preordered and it feels so good! Thrilled for more Sam and Gregory!
