Hot off the presses!  Imp the prequel novella to my urban fantasy series is ready to read. Just click on the cover picture to head to Amazon.  It’s also available on Smashwords and B&N. It’s about 22k words (70ish pages), and features Az and Dar as adolescent demons, before Az decided to live among the humans and became Samantha Martin.  I wrote it in in the style of young adult, but “demon young adult” so expect some vulgarity!

For those of you waiting with baited breath for Elven Blood, you’ll see references in that novel (due out April 1st) from Imp.  I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did writing it.  Enjoy!

Back Cover:

Demon young are cruel, especially to little imps like Az.  No matter where she hides, even deep in the swamplands, her siblings eventually find her and hurt her, ripping off her scales and slicing her wings.  Many demons don’t live to adulthood.  Only the strong survive.  And the clever.

Survival isn’t looking probable for Az, with eldest brother, Paquit, determined to rip her to shreds at every opportunity.  When her other brother, Dar, proposes a trip through the angelic gates into the land of the humans, she jumps at the chance.  Finally, a fun adventure safe from Paquit’s cruelty and attacks.  Or maybe not.

  1. Awesome! I’ll keep an eye open for your release announcement 🙂

  2. Yep, when you said the wordcount for your novella, I thought it would be a good one to squeeze in!

I should be getting back the final version of my book cover in the next few days. It is looking amazing. I’m going to give a sneak peak to Facebook friends (thanks for friending me), but I’m trying to coordinate a reveal for it in early January. The novel itself will release on January 15th. Hopefully people will like it 🙂

  3. Psyched your novel release is so close! That last month is always so stressy, but exciting.
Imp is a novella, so it’s a quick read. Hope you enjoy it!

  4. I was in the midst of edits since my novel is releasing next month and just now got a chance to respond. So happy to hear you’ve got another book for me to read. I’ve got a few ahead of you that I’ve promised to get to ASAP, but while I’m waiting on the editor to get back with me on the final proofread I plan to get some reading done and will make sure yours is one of them 🙂

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

  5. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

  6. This was a great read. I loved seeing Sam (well… Az) before her life as a human. The interplay between Paquit and Az really resonated with me and my adolesence plus some questions were answered! Loved it!
